Based on the original Vision formula, Pearl Vision VX drumsets feature blended Birch Ply shells with Pearl's 6/8 shell technology. These combination Birch and Basswood shells feature 6 plies on mounted toms and 8 plies on floor toms and bass drums. Lower frequencies require greater energy to project equally to match the high frequencies produced by smaller drums. Pearl Vision's combination of six-ply rack toms and eight-ply floor toms and bass drums deliver a dynamically balanced sound. Pearl offers 9 standard Vision configurations, more than any other drum manufacturer. Pearl Vision VX drums come with a Brushed Steel SensiTone snare drum and Award-Winning 900 Series Hardware. VX is available in 6 more affordable solid color wrap options, 3 of which boast black drum hardware. Cymbals and throne sold separately (unless otherwise indicated). Drum sizes for the Pearl Vision VX Hybrid Drum Set Standard configuration: 12" x 9" and 13" x 10" toms, 16" x 16" floor tom, 22" x 18" bass drum, and 14" x 5.5" steel snare drum. Also includes the Pearl 900 Series Hardware Pack with BC900 boom cymbal stand, C900 cymbal stand, S900 snare stand, H900 hi-hat stand, and P900 single bass drum pedal.
